that intuitively detect what’s in front, behind and beside you. You’ve never felt peace of mind like this.

Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)
Signalling left or right with the IONIQ 9’s indicators will activate the Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM). This safety system can see cars travelling in rear blind spots and projects real-time video onto the 12.3” digital instrument cluster, giving you a more complete driving picture to respond to.

Surround View Monitor (SVM) with 3D view function
This multi-camera parking safety system generates a 360-degree bird’s eye view around your IONIQ 9 from various viewpoints including top, front, rear, left and right, displaying them on your 12.5″ multimedia touchscreen to assist you in successfully manoeuvring tight parking situations.
Available on Premium variants only

Parking Collision - Avoidance Assist Reverse (PCA-R)
When you are slowly reversing the IONIQ 9, such as in a garage or parking spot and the PCA-R system anticipates a collision with an obstacle, the system warns the driver with visual and audible alarms while engaging the vehicle’s emergency brakes to help prevent the collision.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
Driver Attention Warning (DAW) analyses your driving behaviours over time. If it notices signs of fatigue or recognises you’ve been driving continuously for an extended period, pop- up messages and audible warnings will suggest you take a break.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning (FCA-JT)
Turning into oncoming traffic at a road junction is made safer with the FCA front camera/radar system. As soon as your IONIQ 9’s indicator is turned on, the system is designed to detect oncoming obstacles like vehicles, cyclists and motorbikes, and alert you to take extra care. If the system detects that danger is imminent, it applies emergency braking to avoid an impact.

Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist (BCA)
Like a second set of eyes, this system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to look out for vehicles in the driver’s rear blind spot. When BCA detects a vehicle in those blind spots, it provides audible alerts and haptic steering wheel vibration.

High Beam Assist (HBA)
This courteous and convenient feature scans the road ahead for approaching headlights, then automatically adjusts yours to low beam, then back to high when there’s no oncoming headlights.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)
LFA uses the IONIQ 9’s front windshield-mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road and provides steering assistance to help you stay safely centred in your lane while driving.

Lane Keeping Assist - Line/Road-Edge (LKA-L/R)
This steering-assist function detects lane markings on the road to monitor your position in a lane. Should you stray from a lane without activating your indicators, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and, under certain conditions, steering intervention will activate to help keep you in your lane.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision - Avoidance Assist (RCCA)
When backing out from a parking spot, RCCA detects vehicles approaching from the left or right. The sensor will issue an audible alert and visual warning on the dashboard and, if necessary, will initiate a braking manoeuvre.

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)
This system monitors the opening and closing of the KONA Hybrid’s rear doors, to help make sure nothing and no one is accidentally left behind inside. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a “check rear seats” alert message in the instrument cluster.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA)
IONIQ 9’s senses are always looking out for you. Even when it’s parked, if it detects a car approaching from behind, it will prevent the driver from disengaging the electronic child safety lock to PREVENT passengers in the 2nd row seat from exiting the vehicle. And if it detects a vehicle approaching and a road-facing rear passenger opens their door, it will sound a warning chime reminding them to be careful and a warning sign will also pop up in the cluster.
